Sustainability
Having in a background in corporate sustainability (before Gourmet Coffee Cruiser), we are committed to working to improve our sustainability practices and inspire our community to do the same.
In our first year of operation, we have drafted a sustainability action plan and see this as a huge opportunity for Gourmet Coffee Cruiser to lead by example.
Reduce - single-use plastic where possible. Use single-wall coffee cups rather than double-wall cups which halves the amount of paper used. Use liquid sugar rather individually wrapped sugar sachets and avoiding the need for wooden/plastic stirrers.
Reuse - encourage keep cups and offer customers a discount on their coffee.
Recycle - use disposable coffee cups that are compostable AND recyclable. Back of house recycling of packaging and milk cartons/bottles.
Use triple-filtered rainwater.
Actively seek ways to reduce the environmental impact.
Seek out information in relation to product purchases, life cycle costs and end of life.
We do not use plastic cold beverage cups or plastic straws. Paper straws are available on request only.
Pursue local and responsibly sourced supply chains eg cakes and biscuits are sourced from a local business, owned.
Our coffee is sourced locally and roasted in Sydney, NSW.
